AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for schedule of convictions and
3 points, for obedience to signal indicating approach of train,
4 for vehicles required to stop at railroad crossings and for
5 compliance with bridge and railroad warning signals.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 1535(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
9 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
10 § 1535. Schedule of convictions and points.
11 (a) General rule.--A point system for driver education and
12 control is hereby established which is related to other
13 provisions for use, suspension and revocation of the operating
14 privilege as specified under this title. Every driver licensed
15 in this Commonwealth who is convicted of any of the following
16 offenses shall be assessed points as of the date of violation in
17 accordance with the following schedule:

8 Section 2. Section 3341 of Title 75 is amended by adding a
9 subsection to read:
10 § 3341. Obedience to signal indicating approach of train.

12 (c) Penalties.--A violation of subsection (a) constitutes a
13 summary offense punishable by a fine of from $50 to $200. A
14 violation of subsection (b) constitutes a summary offense
15 punishable by a fine of from $200 to $500.
16 Section 3. Section 3342(f) of Title 75 is amended to read:
17 § 3342. Vehicles required to stop at railroad crossings.

19 (f) Penalty.--A violation of this section constitutes a
20 summary offense punishable by a fine of from [$50] $100 to
21 [$100] $150, except that a violation of subsection (b) or (e)
22 shall be punishable by a fine of from [$100] $200 to [$300]
23 $500.
24 Section 4. Section 3551 of Title 75 is amended by adding a
25 subsection to read:
26 § 3551. Compliance with bridge and railroad warning signals.

28 (c) Penalty.--A violation of this section constitutes a
29 summary offense punishable by a fine of not less than $50 nor
30 more than $150.

1 Section 5. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
