AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Education for
2 community colleges for deferred maintenance.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Definitions.
6 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
7 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
8 context clearly indicates otherwise:
9 "Community college." A community college as defined in
10 section 1901-A of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14),
11 known as the Public School Code of 1949.
12 Section 2. Appropriation.
13 The sum of $10,000,000, or as much thereof as may be
14 necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of Education
1 for the fiscal year July 1, 2001, to June 30, 2002. This sum
2 shall be allocated to community colleges for the purposes of
3 deferred maintenance.
4 Section 3. Effective date.
5 This act shall take effect July 1, 2001, or immediately,
6 whichever is later.
