                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Department of Health for services
     2     for children with special needs for the fiscal year beginning
     3     July 1, 2003.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  Appropriation.
     7     The sum of $87,000 is hereby appropriated to the Department
     8  of Health for services for children with special needs for the
     9  fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003. This appropriation includes
    10  funding for spina bifida services, $50,000 for the ventilator-
    11  assisted children's home program including case management and
    12  respite care services, and public awareness activities related
    13  to folic acid ingestion.
    14  Section 2.  Construction.
    15     The sum appropriated in section 1 shall be construed as a

     1  supplement to the State appropriation to the Department of
     2  Health for services for children with special needs set forth in
     3  section 215 of the act of March 20, 2003 (P.L., No.1A), known as
     4  the General Appropriation Act of 2003.
     5  Section 3.  Effective date.
     6     This act shall take effect July 1, 2003, or immediately,
     7  whichever occurs later.
