                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, regulating paint projectiles.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  Section 6106.1 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     6  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     7  § 6106.1.  Carrying loaded weapons other than firearms.
     8     (a)  General rule.--Except as provided in Title 34 (relating
     9  to game), no person shall carry a loaded pistol, revolver,
    10  shotgun or rifle, other than a firearm as defined in section
    11  6102 (relating to definitions), in any vehicle. The provisions
    12  of this section shall not apply to persons excepted from the
    13  requirement of a license to carry firearms under section
    14  6106(b)(1), (2), (5) or (6) (relating to firearms not to be
    15  carried without a license) nor shall the provisions of this
    16  section be construed to permit persons to carry firearms in a
    17  vehicle where such conduct is prohibited by section 6106.


     1     (a.1)  Paint projectile.--
     2         (1)  No person shall carry a pistol, revolver, shotgun or
     3     rifle loaded with a paint projectile in any vehicle. Weapons
     4     shall be transported in plain view, and paint projectiles
     5     shall be separate, in a trunk or apart in a container
     6     isolated from the weapon.
     7         (2)  The provisions of paragraph (1) shall not be
     8     applicable to any commercial paintball field, range or course
     9     where passengers are being transported by the commercial
    10     field, range or course operator to and from designated player
    11     areas.
    12     (b)  Penalty.--A person who violates the provisions of this
    13  section commits a summary offense.
    14     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
