AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, defining "motorized scooter"; and further providing
3 for classes of licenses.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 102 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
8 § 102. Definitions.
9 Subject to additional definitions contained in subsequent
10 provisions of this title which are applicable to specific
11 provisions of this title, the following words and phrases when
12 used in this title shall have, unless the context clearly
13 indicates otherwise, the meanings given to them in this section:

15 "Motorized scooter." A scooter powered by a gasoline engine.

17 Section 2. Section 1504(d) of Title 75 is amended by adding
18 a paragraph to read:
1 § 1504. Classes of licenses.

3 (d) Number and description of classes.--Licenses issued by
4 the department shall be classified in the following manner:

6 (5) Class MS.--A Class MS license shall be issued to
7 those persons who have demonstrated their qualifications to
8 operate a motorized scooter. Holders of MS licenses are
9 subject to the requirements of Subchapter H of Chapter 17
10 (relating to proof of financial responsibility).

12 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
