AN ACT 1 Designating the bridge carrying U.S. Route 522 over the Aughwick 2 Creek in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, as the Queen 3 Aliquippa Bridge. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Queen Aliquippa Bridge. 7 (a) Declaration of policy.--The General Assembly finds and 8 declares as follows: 9 (1) Queen Aliquippa was a leader of the Seneca Tribe of 10 American Indians in the 18th century. 11 (2) She was an ally to the British forces during the 12 French and Indian War and was mentioned in the journal of 13 George Washington, who was leading British forces against the 14 French at this time. 15 (3) She died in December 1754 in the Aughwick Valley of
1 Huntingdon County. 2 (b) Designation.--The bridge carrying U.S. Route 522 over 3 the Aughwick Creek in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, shall 4 be designated as the Queen Aliquippa Bridge. 5 (c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall place 6 appropriate signs at both ends of the bridge designated in 7 subsection (b). 8 Section 2.
