AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 22, 1999 (P.L.122, No.21), entitled "An
2 act amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
3 Consolidated Statutes, providing for supply choice for
4 customers of natural gas utilities and for restructuring of
5 the natural gas utility industry; and making repeals,"
6 changing the effective date of certain provisions.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 9 of the act of June 22, 1999 (P.L.122,
10 No.21), entitled "An act amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of
11 the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for supply
12 choice for customers of natural gas utilities and for
13 restructuring of the natural gas utility industry; and making
14 repeals," is amended to read:
15 Section 9. This act shall take effect as follows:
16 (1) The following provisions shall take effect [June 30,
17 2000] January 1, 2000:
18 (i) The addition of the definition of "city natural
19 gas distribution operation" in 66 Pa.C.S. § 102.
1 (ii) The inclusion of a city natural gas
2 distribution operation in the definition of "natural gas
3 distribution company" in 66 Pa.C.S. § 2202.
4 (iii) The addition of 66 Pa.C.S. § 2212.
5 (iv) Section 4 of this act.
6 (v) Section 8 of this act.
7 (2) The following provisions shall take effect
8 immediately:
9 (i) The addition of 66 Pa.C.S. § 2203(15).
10 (ii) This section.
11 (3) The following provisions shall take effect July 1,
12 1999, or immediately, whichever is later:
13 (i) The amendment of 66 Pa.C.S. §§ 1307(f) and (g),
14 1317 and 1318.
15 (ii) The addition of 66 Pa.C.S. § 2201.
16 (iii) Except as provided in paragraph (1)(ii), the
17 addition of 66 Pa.C.S. § 2202.
18 (iv) Except as provided in paragraph (2)(i), the
19 addition of 66 Pa.C.S. § 2203.
20 (v) The addition of 66 Pa.C.S. §§ 2204 through 2211.
21 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
