                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for duration of
     3     suspension for restricted operating privileges.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 6310.4(b) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 6310.4.  Restriction of operating privileges.
     9     * * *
    10     (b)  Duration of suspension.--When the [department] court
    11  suspends the operating privilege of a person under subsection
    12  (a), the duration of the suspension shall be as follows:
    13         (1)  For a first offense, a period of up to 90 days from
    14     the date of suspension.
    15         (2)  For a second offense, a period of one year from the
    16     date of suspension.
    17         (3)  For a third offense, and any offense thereafter, a


     1     period of two years from the date of suspension. Any multiple
     2     sentences imposed shall be served consecutively.
     3  Reinstatement of operating privilege shall be governed by 75
     4  Pa.C.S. § 1545 (relating to restoration of operating privilege).

     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
