                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for the term of office of the
     3     commissioners.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 301(c) and (d) of Title 34 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
     8  § 301.  Organization of commission.
     9     * * *
    10     (c)  Term of office and compensation.--The members of the
    11  commission [shall] may hold office for not more than two terms
    12  of [eight] four years each and [may continue to hold office for
    13  a period of time not to exceed six months or until a successor
    14  is appointed and qualified, whichever occurs first. A member of
    15  the commission appointed to fill a vacancy for a period of four
    16  years or less may be eligible for appointment to a full eight-
    17  year term.] shall be subject to confirmation for each four-year

     1  term. A member of the commission who serves [a full eight-year
     2  term or fills a vacancy for a period of more than four years]
     3  for eight years in succession shall not be eligible for
     4  reappointment to the commission until a period of [eight] four
     5  years expires. Commissioners shall receive no compensation for
     6  their services, but may be reimbursed for travel expenses.
     7     (d)  Vacancies.--Upon the death, resignation or removal from
     8  office of any person so appointed, the Governor shall appoint a
     9  competent person to serve for [the unexpired term as provided in
    10  subsection (a).] a four-year term who may succeed himself as
    11  provided in subsection (c).
    12     Section 2.  Terms of commissioners established under this act
    13  shall apply to each commissioner appointed after the effective
    14  date of this act.
    15     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
