                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
     2     "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
     3     sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
     4     consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto; and
     5     providing for regional renaissance initiatives," further
     6     providing for assistant district attorneys.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 1420 of the act of August 9, 1955
    10  (P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, amended December
    11  10, 1974 (P.L.827, No.275), is amended to read:
    12     Section 1420.  Assistant District Attorneys and Assistants;
    13  Number; Compensation.--The district attorney may appoint such
    14  number of assistants, special assistants or deputy assistants,
    15  learned in the law, to assist him in the discharge of his
    16  duties, as is fixed by the salary board of the county. The
    17  salary board shall fix the salary of such assistants, special
    18  assistants or deputy assistants.
    19     Section 2.  Sections 1422 and 1423 of the act are repealed.
    20     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
