                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for cooperation of
     3     government and nongovernment agencies.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4304.1(a)(2) of Title 23 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4304.1.  Cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies.
     9     (a)  Cooperation of government agencies.--Notwithstanding any
    10  other provision of law, including the provisions of section 731
    11  of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.343, No.176), known as The
    12  Fiscal Code, all government agencies shall:

     1         [(2)  Require the Social Security number of an individual
     2     who has one on any application for a professional or
     3     occupational license or certification; a permit; a driver's
     4     license, including a commercial driver's license; a
     5     recreational license; or a marriage license. Collection of
     6     the Social Security number shall be performed in such manner
     7     as to protect its confidentiality. If the government agency
     8     uses another identifying number on the face of the
     9     application, the government agency shall advise the applicant
    10     and shall keep the Social Security number on file at the
    11     agency.]
    12         (2)  Require the Social Security number of an individual
    13     who has one on any application for a professional or
    14     occupational license or certification; a permit; a driver's
    15     license, including a commercial driver's license; or a
    16     marriage license. Collection of the Social Security number
    17     shall be performed in such manner as to protect its
    18     confidentiality. If the government agency uses another
    19     identifying number on the face of the application, the
    20     government agency shall advise the applicant and shall keep
    21     the Social Security number on file at the agency.
