                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for accidents involving death or
     3     personal injury.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3742 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 3742.  Accidents involving death or personal injury.
     9     * * *
    10     (c.1)  Testing and determining amount of alcohol or
    11  controlled substance.--If there is probable cause to believe
    12  that serious bodily injury or death has occurred or will occur
    13  as a result of an accident, the driver of any vehicle involved
    14  in the accident shall submit to a test to determine the alcohol
    15  content of blood or the presence of a controlled substance, in
    16  the manner and to the same effect as provided in section 1547

     1  (relating to chemical testing to determine amount of alcohol or
     2  controlled substance).

     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
