AN ACT 1 Amending the act of November 10, 1999 (P.L.491, No.45), entitled 2 "An act establishing a uniform construction code; imposing 3 powers and duties on municipalities and the Department of 4 Labor and Industry; providing for enforcement; imposing 5 penalties; and making repeals," further providing for the 6 powers of the Department of Labor and Industry relating to 7 State-owned buildings. 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. Section 105(b) of the act of November 10, 1999 11 (P.L.491, No.45), known as the Pennsylvania Construction Code 12 Act, is amended by adding a paragraph and the section is amended 13 by adding a subsection to read: 14 Section 105. Department of Labor and Industry. 15 * * * 16 (b) State-owned buildings.-- 17 * * * 18 (5) The department may enter into contracts with 19 municipalities, councils of governments, construction code 20 officials and third-party agencies for the administration and
1 enforcement of this act for State-owned buildings including a 2 State-affiliated entity or State-related institution as 3 defined in 62 Pa.C.S. § 103 (relating to definitions). 4 (b.1) Design changes.--After a design plan has been approved 5 by the appropriate authority and construction has commenced, a 6 proposed change to the design plan may be approved by an on-site 7 department inspector if the following requirements are met: 8 (1) The design plan change meets the requirements of the 9 Uniform Construction Code. 10 (2) The design plan change appears to the department 11 inspector to be necessary for reasons other than cost- 12 cutting. 13 (3) The design plan change is noted on the final design 14 plan when the completed plan is resubmitted for approval 15 after construction has been completed. 16 * * * 17 Section 2.
