                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," further providing for penalties for
     6     violation of compulsory attendance requirements.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 1333(b) of the act of March 10, 1949
    10  (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
    11  amended by adding a paragraph to read:
    12     Section 1333.  Penalties for Violation of Compulsory
    13  Attendance Requirements.--* * *
    14     (b)  * * *
    15     (4.1)  Any child who fails to comply with the compulsory
    16  attendance provisions of this act and is habitually truant may
    17  be denied, for two years, by the district superintendent or
    18  supervising principal of the child's school district an
    19  employment certificate, as provided for in section 9 of the act

     1  of May 13, 1915 (P.L.286, No.177), known as the "Child Labor
     2  Law," and participation in and attendance at extra-curricular
     3  activities.

     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
