           E. Z. TAYLOR, STERN, ZUG, McNAUGHTON, BENNINGHOFF, SEYFERT,
           MAITLAND, HUTCHINSON, WILT, B. SMITH AND ORIE,
           FEBRUARY 10, 1998

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT, FEBRUARY 10, 1998

                                     AN ACT

     1  Repealing certain acts as being obsolete.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4     Section 1.  The following acts are repealed:
     5     Act of April 4, 1868 (P.L.61, No.28), entitled "An act to
     6  promote the improvement of real estate by exempting mortgages
     7  and other money securities from taxation, except for state
     8  purposes, in certain counties of this commonwealth."
     9     Act of May 2, 1901 (P.L.126, No.91), entitled "An act to
    10  validate mortgages, conveyances, and other instruments which
    11  have been defectively acknowledged."
    12     Act of April 28, 1915 (P.L.198, No.108), entitled "An act
    13  relating to the satisfaction of mortgages under power of
    14  attorney directed to the recorder of deeds."
    15     Act of May 9, 1929 (P.L.1691, No.544), entitled "An act
    16  validating certain satisfactions of mortgages heretofore entered

     1  in good faith at the instance of the mortgagee and providing
     2  that the record of copies thereof shall be received in
     3  evidence."
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
