AN ACT
Amending the act of October 17, 2008 (P.L.1645, No.132),
entitled "An act providing for the regulation of home
improvement contracts and for the registration of certain
contractors; prohibiting certain acts; and providing for
penalties," providing for persons ineligible to work for
registered contractors.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of October 17, 2008 (P.L.1645, No.132),
known as the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act, is
amended by adding a section to read:
Section 8.1. Persons ineligible to work for registered
contractors.
A person who has been convicted of a crime relating to the
performance of the person's home improvement work shall be
ineligible to work for a contractor registered under this act. A
contractor who submits an a pplication for a certificate for a
home improvement contractor or a renewal of that
certificate shall certify to the bureau that the contractor does
not have a person who is ineligible to work under this section

on the contractor's payroll as an employee or a subcontractor
upon the submission of the application in a form and manner
determined by the bureau.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
