AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for safe operation of all-terrain
3 vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 7726 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 7726. Operation in safe manner.

10 (d) Helmet required for off-highway operation of ATV.--No
11 person shall operate an ATV off the highway unless the person is
12 wearing a helmet meeting the standards of the American National
13 Standards Institute, the American Society for Testing and
14 Materials, the Snell Memorial Foundation's Standards for
15 Protective Headgear for Use in Bicycling or any other nationally
16 recognized standard for vehicle helmet approval.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
