AN ACT
1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for duration of child
3 support payments.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 4328. Duration of child support.
9 Unless expressly provided in the decree, provisions for the
10 support of a child are terminated by emancipation or attainment
11 of majority of the child but not by the death of a parent
12 obligated to support the child. When a parent obligated to pay
13 support dies, the amount of support may be modified, revoked or
14 commuted to a lump sum payment, to the extent just and
15 appropriate in the circumstances.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
