AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for cellular telephone
3 contract methods.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 2908. Cellular telephone contract methods.
9 (a) General rule.--A public utility who or which furnishes
10 mobile domestic cellular radio telecommunications service in
11 this Commonwealth to an existing customer who desires to change
12 the customer's plan and purchase a new cellular telephone shall
13 offer the new cellular telephone at the public utility's lowest
14 advertised price.
15 (b) Applicability.--This section shall apply to customers
16 who have a contract with the public utility on the date the
17 purchase of the new cellular telephone is made and are not
1 currently delinquent in the payment of the services provided by
2 the public utility.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
