                                    AN ACT

     1  Authorizing the Secretary of the Department of General Services
     2     to reimburse volunteer fire and volunteer ambulance and
     3     rescue companies who respond to fires or other emergencies on
     4     State-owned property and making an appropriation.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  The Secretary of General Services is hereby
     8  authorized to enter into contracts with local volunteer fire,
     9  ambulance and rescue companies to provide services necessary to
    10  extinguish fires or perform any other allied services on State-
    11  owned property.
    12     Section 2.  Any such contract between the Secretary of
    13  General Services and a local volunteer fire, ambulance and
    14  rescue company shall provide that the Department of General
    15  Services shall, semiannually, upon receipt of proper proof,
    16  reimburse each volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue company


     1  attending and providing fire control or other allied services on
     2  State-owned property up to an amount of $100 for each verified
     3  fire or emergency call which the volunteer fire, ambulance and
     4  rescue company made in the preceding six months as certified by
     5  the person in charge at the particular State-owned property.
     6     Section 3.  The sum of $25,000, or as much thereof as may be
     7  necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of General
     8  Services for the fiscal period ending June 30, 1982 to
     9  effectuate the purposes of this act.  All funds unexpended,
    10  uncommitted, or unencumbered on June 30, 1982 shall lapse.
    11     Section 4.  This act shall take effect immediately.
