                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for visual and audible signals on
     3     emergency vehicles.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4571(d) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4571.  Visual and audible signals on emergency vehicles.
     9     * * *
    10     (d)  Vehicles prohibited from using signals.--
    11         (1)  Except as otherwise specifically provided in this
    12     section[, no]:
    13             (i)  No vehicle other than an emergency vehicle may
    14         be equipped with revolving or flashing lights or audible
    15         warning systems identical or similar to those specified
    16         in subsections (a) and (b).
    17             (ii)  No vehicle other than an emergency vehicle may
    18         be equipped with any side mounted spotlight, floodlight,

     1         alley light or any other such light.
     2         (2)  A person who equips or uses a vehicle with visual or
     3     audible warning systems in violation of this section commits
     4     a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to
     5     pay a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000.

     7     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
