AN ACT
1Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in imposition of
3sentence, further providing for information required upon
4commitment and subsequent disposition.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Section 9764 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
8Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding subsections to read:
9§ 9764. Information required upon commitment and subsequent
10disposition.

12(j.1) Release of inmate under psychiatric care from State or
13county correctional facility.--If an inmate under psychiatric
14care has been prescribed psychotropic medications, prior to the
15release of the inmate from a State or county correctional
16facility, the facility shall schedule a future appointment for
17the inmate to visit a mental health provider and provide the
18inmate with a thirty day supply of the inmate's psychotropic
1medications as prescribed.

3(m) Definitions.--As used in this section, the term
4"psychotropic medication" shall mean any medication prescribed
5by a licensed physician that is capable of affecting the mind,
6emotions and behavior.
7Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
