AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Pennsylvania Higher Education
2 Assistance Agency for the purpose of providing an issuer
3 contribution to provide financial support for the
4 continuation of the agency's direct loan program.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The sum of $10,000,000 is hereby appropriated, as
8 a continuing appropriation, to the Pennsylvania Higher Education
9 Assistance Agency for payment, directly or as reimbursement, to
10 the agency for costs incurred as a required issuer contribution
11 associated with the issuance of future tax-exempt debt for the
12 purpose of funding the agency's nonsubsidized Stafford student
13 loan originations beginning July 1, 1990. The appropriated
14 amount shall be transferred at the request of the agency and
15 deposited in the Higher Education Assistance Fund.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
