AN ACT
1 Requiring the timely settlement of sales of surplus property by
2 the Department of General Services; and limiting the
3 conveyance powers of the department.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Settlement deadline.
7 All proposed sales of surplus property by the Department of
8 General Services shall be brought to settlement within two years
9 of the date of bid openings resulting in a successful high bid.
10 Section 2. Extensions.
11 If the proposed purchaser is acting in good faith and moving
12 forward in a timely manner, the department, upon the approval of
13 the Secretary of General Services, may grant up to two six-month
14 extensions.
15 Section 3. Rescission.
16 Such proposed sale shall be rescinded if this act is not
17 complied with.
18 Section 4. Effective date.
1 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
