                                     AN ACT

     1  Designating a bridge in the City of Johnstown, Cambria County,
     2     the Frank J. Pasquerilla Bridge.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Finding of fact.
     6     The General Assembly hereby finds and declares as follows:
     7         (1)  Frank J. Pasquerilla (1926-1999), native son of the
     8     City of Johnstown, was an entrepreneur and humanitarian of
     9     extraordinary accomplishment.
    10         (2)  Despite the temptations of fame and wealth, Frank J.
    11     Pasquerilla lived his life firmly rooted to the religious
    12     beliefs, family values, moral standards and community spirit
    13     with which he was raised.
    14         (3)  Frank J. Pasquerilla will be remembered not only by

     1     his success in business but by his dedication to higher
     2     education and the arts.
     3         (4)  The achievements and contributions of Frank J.
     4     Pasquerilla embody the spirit of Americanism and serve as a
     5     glimmering beacon for future generations of Pennsylvanians to
     6     reflect upon and aspire to become.
     7  Section 2.  Frank J. Pasquerilla Bridge.
     8     (a)  Designation authorized.--The bridge in the City of
     9  Johnstown carrying State Route 271 at Phoebe Court over the
    10  Little Conemaugh River is hereby designated and shall hereafter
    11  be known as the Frank J. Pasquerilla Bridge in honor of Frank J.
    12  Pasquerilla's many contributions to his community, to his county
    13  and to this Commonwealth.
    14     (b)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect
    15  appropriate signs at each end of the bridge displaying the
    16  designation made by this act.
    17  Section 3.  Effective date.
    18     This act shall take effect immediately.
