                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, providing for the offense of selling
     3     motor vehicles with removed airbag.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 7516.  Selling motor vehicle with removed airbag.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Except as otherwise provided under
    10  subsection (b), a person who removes an airbag from a motor
    11  vehicle and sells or attempts to sell the motor vehicle without
    12  informing the purchaser or potential purchaser thereof in
    13  writing that the airbag has been removed commits a summary
    14  offense.
    15     (b)  Exception.--Subsection (a) shall not apply to a person
    16  who removes a deployed or defective airbag from a motor vehicle,
    17  replaces it with one that is in operating condition and then


     1  sells or attempts to sell the motor vehicle.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
