AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for issuance of certificate of
3 inspection.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4727(d) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes, amended February 7, 1990 (P.L.11, No.6),
8 is amended to read:
9 § 4727. Issuance of certificate of inspection.

11 (d) Proof of insurance.--No certificate of inspection shall
12 be issued unless a financial responsibility identification card
13 or an insurance binder indicating proper proof of financial
14 responsibility as required by law is submitted to the inspection
15 official, who shall, on a form provided by the department, keep
16 a record of the name of the insured, the vehicle tag number, the
17 issuing company, the policy number and the expiration date. In
18 those cases where the insured fails to present proof of
1 financial responsibility to the inspection official, the
2 inspection official, in addition to denying a certificate of
3 inspection, may provide notification to the department, on the
4 form provided by the department, within 30 days of the insured's
5 failure to present proof of financial responsibility.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1990, or
7 immediately, whichever is later.
