AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation from the Tax Stabilization Reserve Fund
2 to the Department of Education for payment of special
3 education subsidies to school districts.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $84,225,000, or as much thereof as may
7 be necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated from the Tax
8 Stabilization Reserve Fund to the Department of Education for
9 the fiscal year July 1, 1989, to June 30, 1990.
10 Section 2. The sum in section 1 is appropriated to the
11 Department of Education to comply with section 2509 of the act
12 of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School
13 Code of 1949, by making payments to school districts for current
14 year expenses of special education programs.
15 Section 3. Payments from the sum appropriated in section 1
16 shall be made to school districts on or before June 30, 1990, or
1 immediately upon enactment of this act, if enacted after that
2 date.
3 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
