                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for concurrent jurisdiction between the United States
     2     and the Commonwealth over certain parks and historic sites.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Concurrent jurisdiction.
     6     (a)  Grant of concurrent jurisdiction.--The Commonwealth of
     7  Pennsylvania hereby grants to the United States concurrent
     8  jurisdiction over lands, waters and buildings within the
     9  boundaries of units administered by the United States Department
    10  of the Interior National Park Service, including those owned,
    11  leased or administratively controlled by the National Park
    12  Service 90 days after the effective date of this act, as well as
    13  all lands and buildings hereafter acquired, leased or
    14  administratively controlled by the National Park Service.
    15     (b)  Sites affected.--The existing National Park Service
    16  lands, waters and buildings affected are as follows:
    17         (1)  Allegheny Postage National Historic site.


     1         (2)  Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
     2         (3)  Edgar Allen Poe National Historic Site.
     3         (4)  Eisenhower National Historical Site.
     4         (5)  Fort Necessity National Battlefield.
     5         (6)  Friendship Hill National Historic Site.
     6         (7)  Gettysburg National Military Park.
     7         (8)  Gloria Dei (Old Swede's) Church National Historic
     8     Site.
     9         (9)  Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site.
    10         (10)  Independence National Historical Park.
    11         (11)  Johnstown Flood National Historical Memorial.
    12         (12)  Thaddeus Koscuiszko National Memorial.
    13         (13)  Valley Forge National Historical Park.
    14  Section 2.  Conditions precedent.
    15     (a)  Relinquishment by United States.--Cession of
    16  jurisdiction shall become effective when it is accepted on
    17  behalf of the United States. Acceptance shall be indicated, in
    18  writing upon the instrument of cession, by an authorized
    19  official of the United States and filed with the Secretary of
    20  the Commonwealth.
    21     (b)  Acceptance by Governor.--
    22         (1)  Whenever the United States tenders to the
    23     Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a relinquishment of all or part
    24     of the legislative jurisdiction theretofore acquired by it
    25     over lands within this State, the Governor is authorized to
    26     accept, on behalf of the Commonwealth, the legislative
    27     jurisdiction so relinquished.
    28         (2)  The Governor shall indicate his acceptance of
    29     relinquished legislative jurisdiction by a writing addressed
    30     to the head of the appropriate department or agency of the

     1     United States. This acceptance shall be effective upon the
     2     publication of the writing in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
     3  Section 3.  Effective date.
     4     This act shall take effect immediately.
