AN ACT
1 Allocating a portion of the State tax for education to the
2 Department of Community and Economic Development for grants
3 to counties for economic development and infrastructure
4 improvements.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Payment to Department of Community and Economic
8 Development.
9 The Department of Revenue shall pay to the Department of
10 Community and Economic Development an amount equivalent to 0.5%
11 of the rate of tax for education imposed under Article II of the
12 act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), known as the Tax Reform Code
13 of 1971, and collected by the Department of Revenue in cities of
14 the first class and in each of the respective counties for
15 grants to all counties and all cities of the first class for
16 economic development and infrastructure improvements.
17 Section 2. Use of grant funds.
18 The grant funds received by the county commissioners and city
1 council under section 1 may only be used for economic
2 development and infrastructure improvements.
3 Section 3. Time of payment.
4 The grants paid under section 1 shall be paid not less than
5 quarterly.
6 Section 4. Effective date.
7 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
