AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, prohibiting the implementation or continued use of
3 a vehicle emission inspection program until certain Federal
4 emission standards are implemented.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
9 § 4706.2. Prohibition on emission inspection program.
10 Notwithstanding any of the provisions of this chapter or any
11 law to the contrary, neither the department nor any other
12 department or agency of the Commonwealth shall continue or
13 implement any vehicle emission inspection program until all of
14 the United States Environmental Protection Agency's proposed
15 particulate emission standards for heavy duty engines and heavy
16 duty vehicles take full effect. Any vehicle emission program
17 currently in effect shall cease immediately.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
