AN ACT
1 Designating a portion of the Bay Front Parkway in Erie County as
2 the Italo S. Cappabianca Memorial Highway.
3 The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:
4 (1) Italo S. Cappabianca was a dedicated community
5 servant who was born in Erie on December 19, 1936.
6 (2) Italo S. Cappabianca served in the United States
7 Army from 1956 to 1958 and graduated from Gannon University
8 in 1968.
9 (3) Italo S. Cappabianca was elected to the House of
1 Representatives 12 times, beginning in 1978, serving as
2 Democratic Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs
3 Committee and the Transportation Committee.
4 (4) Italo S. Cappabianca died on May 28, 2001, after a
5 courageous battle with cancer in which he inspired all those
6 who knew him.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Italo S. Cappabianca Memorial Highway.
10 The portion of the Bay Front Parkway from Lincoln Avenue east
11 to State Street, City of Erie, Erie County, is hereby designated
12 and shall be known as the Italo S. Cappabianca Memorial Highway.
13 Section 2. Signs.
14 The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain
15 appropriate signs at each end of the highway designated in
16 section 1 displaying the name of the highway.
17 Section 3. Effective date.
18 This act shall take effect immediately.
