A RESOLUTION 1 Proclaiming April 2, 2001, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day" and 2 congratulating Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members for their 3 contribution to this Commonwealth and to this Commonwealth's 4 agricultural industry. 5 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, formerly the 6 Pennsylvania Farmers' Association, was created November 24, 7 1950, to provide Pennsylvania farmers and rural citizens with a 8 strong voice in government; and 9 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau represents over 25,200 10 farm and rural families and has 54 county farm bureau 11 organizations that are active in 61 counties in this 12 Commonwealth; and 13 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has played an integral 14 role in development and implementation of legislation and 15 governmental programs that have had lasting and positive effects 16 upon the economic welfare of agriculture and agribusiness in 17 this Commonwealth; and
1 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has been and continues 2 to be a strong voice for agriculture at the National, State and 3 local level; therefore be it 4 RESOLVED, That the Senate proclaim April 2, 2001, as 5 "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day"; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That the Senate extend congratulations and 7 appreciation to Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members for their 8 contribution that they have provided to this Commonwealth and to 9 the economic welfare of this Commonwealth's agricultural 10 industry.
