        INTRODUCED BY WAUGH, WENGER, O'PAKE, JUBELIRER, HELFRICK,
           BOSCOLA, MOWERY, TILGHMAN, LAVALLE, ARMSTRONG, TOMLINSON,
           CORMAN, MURPHY, WAGNER, M. WHITE, COSTA, THOMPSON, MADIGAN,
           GREENLEAF, FUMO, DENT, LEMMOND, SCHWARTZ, LOGAN, WOZNIAK AND
           MUSTO, MARCH 13, 2001

        REFERRED TO AGRICULTURE AND RURAL AFFAIRS, MARCH 13, 2001

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the week of March 19, 2001, as "Pennsylvania
     2     Horticultural Week."

     3     WHEREAS, The horticultural industry in this Commonwealth is
     4  comprised of numerous sectors of the agribusiness economy,
     5  including landscape architects, vegetable growers, fruit
     6  growers, nurseries, Christmas tree growers, flower growers, sod
     7  growers, lawn care professionals, arborists and retail centers;
     8  and
     9     WHEREAS, All of the citizens of this Commonwealth benefit
    10  directly from the products and services provided by the
    11  horticultural industry; and
    12     WHEREAS, The collective strengths of the horticultural
    13  industry have contributed greatly to the overall success of
    14  agriculture in this Commonwealth; and
    15     WHEREAS, For over a decade, the Pennsylvania Horticultural
    16  Trade Alliance has represented the collective industry members


     1  before State government to educate and increase awareness of the
     2  various issues that affect them; therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize the horticultural
     4  industry for its continued commitment to quality and excellence;
     5  and be it further
     6     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize the week of March 19,
     7  2001, as "Pennsylvania Horticultural Week."
