        REFERRED TO RULES AND EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS, MAY 10, 1999

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the citizens of this Commonwealth to join in the
     2     celebration of June 5, 1999, as "Kids' Day" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recognizes the
     4  future of this Commonwealth is in the minds, hearts and spirit
     5  of its children; and
     6     WHEREAS, The children of today will be the leaders of
     7  tomorrow; and
     8     WHEREAS, Many families today find it increasingly difficult
     9  to spend adequate time together; and
    10     WHEREAS, Parents and children need to find opportunities to
    11  share time and activities together and for parents to provide
    12  nurturing and guidance; and
    13     WHEREAS, The Borough of Downingtown and Downingtown Main
    14  Street program seek to honor the children of the area by
    15  providing a day of family togetherness, education and
    16  entertainment on June 5, 1999; therefore be it
    17     RESOLVED, That the Senate hereby urge the citizens of this


     1  Commonwealth to join in the celebration of June 5, 1999, as
     2  "Kids' Day" in Pennsylvania.
