        INTRODUCED BY CONTI, LOGAN, THOMPSON, CORMAN, C. WILLIAMS,
           COSTA, D. WHITE, DENT, EARLL, ERICKSON, FERLO, KITCHEN,
           KUKOVICH, M. WHITE, MUSTO, ORIE, RAFFERTY, RHOADES, ROBBINS,
           SCHWARTZ, STOUT, TARTAGLIONE, WAGNER, WAUGH AND WOZNIAK,
           APRIL 28, 2003

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, APRIL 28, 2003

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of April 27 through May 3, 2003, as
     2     "Pennsylvania Wine Week."

     3     WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is home to more than 75 wineries and
     4  vineyards; and
     5     WHEREAS, Pennsylvania ranks eighth in the nation for wine
     6  production; and
     7     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board,
     8  Pennsylvania's wine industry and other State agencies have
     9  promoted the Commonwealth as a "wine-friendly" state; and
    10     WHEREAS, The Second Annual Philadelphia Wine Festival and the
    11  First Annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival are being hosted by the
    12  Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to recognize winemakers
    13  throughout Pennsylvania, the United States and the world; and
    14     WHEREAS, These festivals are featuring wine tasting and
    15  winemaking seminars, winemaker dinners and other related
    16  educational programs; therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the Senate, in recognition of the efforts of
     2  the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and the Pennsylvania wine
     3  industry, designate the week of April 27 through May 3, 2003, as
     4  "Pennsylvania Wine Week"; and be it further
     5     RESOLVED, That the Senate encourage the citizens of this
     6  Commonwealth to celebrate this occasion by attending the
     7  Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Wine Festivals.
