           ARMSTRONG, BOSCOLA, BRIGHTBILL, COSTA, DENT, EARLL, CONTI,
           ERICKSON, MURPHY, GERLACH, ORIE, HOLL, JUBELIRER, KASUNIC,
           KITCHEN, KUKOVICH, LEMMOND, LOGAN, MOWERY, MUSTO, O'PAKE,
           RHOADES, ROBBINS, SCHWARTZ, STACK, TARTAGLIONE, THOMPSON,

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, JUNE 12, 2001

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing August 14 through 16, 2001, as "Ag Progress Days" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University College of
     4  Agricultural Sciences has held "Ag Progress Days" at the Russell
     5  E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs since
     6  1976; and
     7     WHEREAS, Originating in the 1950s as "Grassland Field Days"
     8  and later known as "Forage Progress Days," this exposition of
     9  agricultural research has been observed as "Ag Progress Days"
    10  since 1969; and
    11     WHEREAS, With tours of the research center and exhibitions of
    12  farm and home equipment and services, "Ag Progress Days" offers
    13  the latest research and technologies in animal and crop
    14  production, farm safety, field machinery, pest management,
    15  conservation, lawn and garden care, family living, community
    16  assistance and business management; and

     1     WHEREAS, The College of Agricultural Sciences is marking
     2  August 14, 2001, as "Alumni Day" and August 15, 2001, as
     3  "Government and Industry Day" as part of "Ag Progress Days" this
     4  year; therefore be it
     5     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize August 14 through 16,
     6  2001, as "Ag Progress Days" in Pennsylvania in recognition of
     7  agricultural research and its benefits for agricultural
     8  producers, homeowners and communities in this Commonwealth.
