A RESOLUTION 1 Memorializing the President and Congress to take whatever action 2 is necessary to obtain the release of Americans being held 3 against their will in North Korea. 4 WHEREAS, There are believed to be at least 11 Americans, some 5 of them possible prisoners of war, living in North Korea; and 6 WHEREAS, The Democratic People's Republic of Korea 7 representatives last year requested prominent American 8 businessman and POW/MIA activist Ross Perot to come to North 9 Korea to discuss the status of the Americans; and 10 WHEREAS, United States Intelligence reports include 11 information on sightings of Americans in North Korea and on the 12 existence of American POWs in North Korea; therefore be it 13 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 14 memorialize the President of the United States and the Congress 15 of the United States to take whatever steps necessary to 16 initiate talks with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea 17 for the purpose of obtaining the release of Americans being held 18 against their will; and be it further
