A RESOLUTION 1 Declaring October 24 through 30, 1999, as "Reflexology Week" in 2 Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, Reflexology is a science which deals with the 4 principle that there are reflexes in the feet relative to each 5 organ and all parts of the body and that proper stimulation of 6 these reflexes can help many health problems in a natural way; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, The idea behind reflexology was practiced as early 9 as 2330 B.C. by the Egyptian culture; and 10 WHEREAS, The pioneer of this field in modern times was Eunice 11 Ingham, whose first book on the subject was published in 1938; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, The Original Ingham Method of reflexology is used 14 primarily to relax tension, improve nerve and blood supply and 15 help nature to normalize; and 16 WHEREAS, Since 1942, reflexology seminars have been conducted 17 year-round on a worldwide scale to both laymen and
1 professionals; and 2 WHEREAS, It is appropriate to acknowledge reflexology among 3 the health care choices available to the citizens of this 4 Commonwealth; therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the Senate declare October 24 through 30, 6 1999, as "Reflexology Week" in Pennsylvania.
