        REFERRED TO TRANSPORTATION, OCTOBER 11, 1989

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania
     2     Turnpike Commission to conduct a study of unconnected
     3     turnpike interchanges, with particular concern to the I-70
     4     intersection at Breezewood, Pennsylvania, to insure maximum
     5     public safety and convenience.

     6     WHEREAS, There are several Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges
     7  that are not connected with a limited access highway; and
     8     WHEREAS, These unconnected interchanges pose a serious public
     9  safety concern, resulting in numerous accidents; and
    10     WHEREAS, One particularly dangerous interchange is Breezewood
    11  near Interstate 70; therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the Senate of Pennsylvania urge the Department
    13  of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to
    14  conduct a study of the unconnected turnpike interchanges, with
    15  particular concern to the I-70 interchange at Breezewood, and to
    16  explore ways to connect all interchanges with limited access
    17  highways to insure maximum public safety and convenience.
