SENATE RESOLUTION

No. 114 Session of 1989


        INTRODUCED BY DAWIDA, BELAN, SALVATORE, SHUMAKER, BODACK,
           O'PAKE, MUSTO, PECORA, LINCOLN, REIBMAN, FISHER, LYNCH AND
           STOUT, OCTOBER 26, 1989

        REFERRED TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS, OCTOBER 26, 1989

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the Governor to establish an economic partnership with
     2     Poland, in particular, and Eastern Europe, in general, in
     3     light of the changing political and economic conditions in
     4     the Soviet bloc.

     5     WHEREAS, Changing political and economic conditions in the
     6  Soviet bloc of nations provide opportunities which may be
     7  mutually beneficial to those nations and this Commonwealth;
     8  therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the Senate of Pennsylvania urge the Governor
    10  to take steps to establish an economic partnership with Poland,
    11  in particular, and the other nations of Eastern Europe.
