        INTRODUCED BY HOLL, ROBBINS, LOEPER, KASUNIC, KUKOVICH, WAGNER,
           AFFLERBACH, HELFRICK, SLOCUM, TOMLINSON, TARTAGLIONE, MOWERY,
           SALVATORE, COSTA, BRIGHTBILL, WENGER, TILGHMAN, ULIANA,
           STOUT, BELAN, GREENLEAF, CORMAN AND O'PAKE, FEBRUARY 2, 1998

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, FEBRUARY 2, 1998

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating February 2 through 9, 1998, as "Boy Scout Week" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The concept of scouting was created by Lord Baden-
     4  Powell over 88 years ago; and
     5     WHEREAS, The world scouting movement has made significant
     6  contributions to our nation and this Commonwealth; and
     7     WHEREAS, The first man to walk on the moon, astronaut Neil
     8  Armstrong, was an Eagle Scout; and
     9     WHEREAS, Many of our past leaders, including presidents,
    10  congressmen, judges and clergy, were members of the scouting
    11  movement; and
    12     WHEREAS, Scouting has emphasized leadership and service in
    13  communities, schools and families for the past 88 years;
    14  therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the Senate designate February 2 through 9,
    16  1998, as "Boy Scout Week" in Pennsylvania.
