A RESOLUTION 1 Urging the Governor to establish an economic partnership and a 2 trade mission with Poland, in particular, and Eastern Europe, 3 in general, in light of the changing political and economic 4 conditions in the Soviet bloc. 5 WHEREAS, Changing political and economic conditions in the 6 Soviet bloc of nations provide opportunities which may be 7 mutually beneficial to those nations and this Commonwealth; 8 therefore be it 9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of Pennsylvania urge the Governor 10 to take steps to establish an economic partnership with Poland, 11 in particular, and the other nations of Eastern Europe; and be 12 it further 13 RESOLVED, That the Senate urge the Governor to establish a 14 trade mission which would develop business ties between 15 Pennsylvania business, civic and political leaders and Poland 16 business, civic and political leaders. The goal thereof shall be
1 to have 50 Pennsylvania companies participating for the purpose 2 of economic development. The Senate further urges that the 3 General Assembly appropriate the one-time sum of $250,000 for 4 this purpose. L5L82DGS/19890S0122R1795 - 2 -
