A RESOLUTION 1 Providing for the appointment of a special task force to 2 investigate the economic development of lands contiguous to 3 railroad lines. 4 WHEREAS, It would be in the best interests of Pennsylvania to 5 promote the economic development of lands contiguous to railroad 6 lines; therefore be it 7 RESOLVED, That the President pro tempore appoint a task force 8 to consist of six members as follows: three members of the 9 Senate, two from the majority party and one from the minority 10 party; and three individuals, not members of the Senate, who are 11 knowledgeable in railroad operations and industrial development 12 as it relates to the economic development of lands contiguous to 13 railroad lines; and be it further 14 RESOLVED, That the task force may hold hearings, take 15 testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems 16 necessary in this Commonwealth. Each member of the task force 17 shall have power to administer oaths and affirmations to 18 witnesses appearing before the task force; and be it further
1 RESOLVED, That within 30 calendar days after the task force 2 has made its report or the mandate of the task force has 3 expired, the chairman of the task force shall cause a record of 4 all expenses incurred by the task force, or the members thereof, 5 not to exceed $10,000 and payable at Commonwealth expense, to be 6 filed with the Chief Clerk; and be it further 7 RESOLVED, That the task force make a report of its findings 8 and recommendations to the full Senate on or before February 28, 9 1990.
