A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the week of April 22 through 28, 1990, as "Nursing
2 Home Residents Week" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, More than 80,000 of our fellow Pennsylvanians live
4 in nursing homes; and
5 WHEREAS, Nursing home residents have played an integral role
6 in the development of our Commonwealth; and
7 WHEREAS, Nursing home residents reflect the rich and diverse
8 ethnic and cultural backgrounds of all Pennsylvanians; and
9 WHEREAS, Nursing home residents represent a vital link
10 between our history and our future; and
11 WHEREAS, "Nursing Home Residents Week," which is being
12 celebrated on the national and State levels, is a time to thank
13 nursing home residents for the many contributions they have made
14 and continue to make to our communities; and
15 WHEREAS, "Nursing Home Residents Week" is a time for us all
16 to reflect upon and fight against the myths about aging and the
17 elderly, and about disabilities and the physically challenged;
1 and
2 WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is committed to assisting nursing home
3 residents to achieve the highest quality of life; and
4 WHEREAS, All Pennsylvanians will be enriched by becoming
5 involved with nursing home residents and by sharing the rich
6 experiences nursing home residents have to offer; therefore be
7 it
8 RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of April 22
9 through 28, 1990, as "Nursing Home Residents Week" in
10 Pennsylvania.
