A RESOLUTION 1 Requesting the Attorney General to exercise his authority to 2 grant reciprocity to carry firearms. 3 WHEREAS, Multiple states within the nation authorize out-of- 4 State licensed gun owners to have their permits to carry a 5 firearm within their state recognized; and 6 WHEREAS, A mobile society requires persons to travel for 7 business purposes and those persons are entitled to protection; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, Pennsylvania finds persons carrying firearms 10 authorized by other State licenses to be in violation of 11 Pennsylvania law; and 12 WHEREAS, The Attorney General of the Commonwealth of 13 Pennsylvania is authorized to grant reciprocity to out-of-State 14 licenses under authority granted him under 18 Pa.C.S. § 6109(k) 15 and has not so exercised his authority to be so; therefore be it 16 RESOLVED, That the Senate request that the Attorney General 17 exercise his authority and enter into reciprocity agreements
1 with other states providing for mutual recognition of other 2 states' licenses to carry firearms; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent to the 4 Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. C10L82JRW/19980S0150R1804 - 2 -
