A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing the 70th anniversary of the founding of the 2 Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. 3 WHEREAS, On February 11, 1932, five individuals concerned 4 with increased pollution in Pennsylvania's waterways met to 5 found the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs; and 6 WHEREAS, These individuals, Ross Leffler, Judge Grover C. 7 Ladner, Dr. John M. Phillips, Colin McF. Reed and John C. 8 Youngman, were well-known conservationists throughout America; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, These founders overcame the economic hardships of 11 the post-Depression era and organized several scattered 12 sportsmen's clubs across this Commonwealth into one strong, 13 efficient organization; and 14 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs has 15 a long history of advocacy for conservation and outdoor issues; 16 and
1 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs' 2 educational arm, the Pennsylvania Wildlife Federation, has 3 contributed greatly to public awareness of conservation and 4 outdoor issues; therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the Senate congratulate the Pennsylvania 6 Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs on the 70th anniversary of its 7 founding; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be directed to the 9 Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, 2426 N. 2nd 10 Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17110.
