        INTRODUCED BY HELFRICK, KASUNIC, MADIGAN, ROBBINS, CORMAN,
           SCARNATI, WAUGH, BOSCOLA, WOZNIAK, FUMO, KUKOVICH, TOMLINSON,
           LAVALLE, O'PAKE, MOWERY, TARTAGLIONE, ORIE, BELL, WENGER,
           EARLL, MURPHY, WAGNER, COSTA, LOGAN, GREENLEAF, THOMPSON,
           KITCHEN, ERICKSON, HOLL, MUSTO, PICCOLA, STOUT, SCHWARTZ,
           DENT, LEMMOND AND D. WHITE, JANUARY 23, 2002

        REFERRED TO RULES AND EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS, JANUARY 23, 2002

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the 70th anniversary of the founding of the
     2     Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs.

     3     WHEREAS, On February 11, 1932, five individuals concerned
     4  with increased pollution in Pennsylvania's waterways met to
     5  found the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs; and
     6     WHEREAS, These individuals, Ross Leffler, Judge Grover C.
     7  Ladner, Dr. John M. Phillips, Colin McF. Reed and John C.
     8  Youngman, were well-known conservationists throughout America;
     9  and
    10     WHEREAS, These founders overcame the economic hardships of
    11  the post-Depression era and organized several scattered
    12  sportsmen's clubs across this Commonwealth into one strong,
    13  efficient organization; and
    14     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs has
    15  a long history of advocacy for conservation and outdoor issues;
    16  and

     1     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs'
     2  educational arm, the Pennsylvania Wildlife Federation, has
     3  contributed greatly to public awareness of conservation and
     4  outdoor issues; therefore be it
     5     RESOLVED, That the Senate congratulate the Pennsylvania
     6  Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs on the 70th anniversary of its
     7  founding; and be it further
     8     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be directed to the
     9  Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, 2426 N. 2nd
    10  Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17110.
