AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the powers of the Secretary
3 of Transportation to regulate the operation of trucks with
4 four or more axles.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
9 § 4910. Regulation of four-axle trucks.
10 The secretary shall have the authority to regulate or
11 prohibit the operation on State highways of trucks, with four
12 axles or more, whenever the highway's width, weight-bearing
13 capacity, gradient, curves or passage over bridges and viaducts
14 would interfere with the health, safety and welfare of the
15 public. This section shall not preclude local delivery vehicles
16 from using these highways.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
