3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 CHAPTER 1
6 GENERAL PROVISIONS
7 Section 101. Short title.
8 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Highway
9 Capital Budget PROJECT ITEMIZATION Act of 1997-1998 1996-1997. <--
10 Section 102. Total authorization.
11 The total authorization for the capital projects itemized in
12 this act and to be constructed by the Department of
13 Transportation, its successors or assigns and to be financed
14 from current revenues of the Motor License Fund shall be
15 $2,614,996,000 $2,684,974,000. <--
16 Section 103. Itemization of public highway projects.
17 Additional capital projects in the category of public highway
1 projects to be constructed by the Department of Transportation,
2 its successors or assigns and to be financed from current
3 revenues of the Motor License Fund are itemized in Chapter 3,
4 together with their respective estimated financial costs.

20 Section 502. Allocation of funds.
21 Whenever as determined by the Department of Transportation
22 that the full estimated financial costs of the projects itemized
23 in this act are not necessary for the proper design, acquisition
24 or construction of such projects, the excess funds no longer
25 required may be allocated by the Pennsylvania Department of
26 Transportation to increase the estimated costs of any one or
27 more of the projects specifically itemized in a capital budget.
28 Section 503. Estimated useful life.
29 The General Assembly states that the estimated useful life of
30 the highway capital projects itemized in this act is 30 years.
