SENATE RESOLUTION

No. 197 Session of 1998


        INTRODUCED BY MOWERY, ROBBINS, AFFLERBACH, BELAN, BELL, COSTA,
           EARLL, GERLACH, HELFRICK, KASUNIC, MUSTO, PICCOLA, SALVATORE,
           STAPLETON, THOMPSON, TILGHMAN, TOMLINSON, WAGNER, WHITE AND
           WOZNIAK, MAY 1, 1998

        REFERRED TO RULES AND EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS, MAY 1, 1998

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of May 10 through 16, 1998, as "MADD Week"
     2     in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Tri-County Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk
     4  Driving (MADD) was founded in 1982 and chartered in 1983; and
     5     WHEREAS, The Tri-County Chapter of MADD is planning an
     6  observance during May 10 through 16, 1998, to educate the public
     7  about the tragic consequences that result from drunk driving on
     8  our nation's highways and to encourage all residents of this
     9  Commonwealth to work together to prevent drunk driving;
    10  therefore be it
    11     RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of May 10
    12  through 16, 1998, as "MADD Week" in Pennsylvania; and be it
    13  further
    14     RESOLVED, That the Senate encourage all Pennsylvanians to
    15  make safe driving a priority and to never drive if they have
    16  been drinking.
